EDGR AFL rules and scoring
A trustworthy public summary of how AFL works in EDGR. Legal terms remain in Terms & Conditions.
Eligibility
You need an EDGR account to save picks and appear on leaderboards. Meet any age and eligibility requirements published in the Terms.
Pick windows and lock rules
Pick one team for each eligible game day. You may change your pick until the fixture starts. After bounce, the pick is locked and cannot be edited.
AFL scoring and virtual bankroll
Every point of margin is $1,000 of virtual bankroll. Your selected team’s points raise your virtual bankroll; the opposition’s points lower it. Movement updates from EDGR’s live score feed.
Missing picks
If you do not submit a pick for a window, you do not receive that fixture’s margin result. There is no auto-pick.
Captain’s Call
Doubles the positive or negative virtual bankroll outcome for exactly one selected pick. It cannot be moved or removed after locking. Free players receive 1 per Melbourne calendar month; Advantage players receive 3 total. Details: Captain’s Call.
Freeze
Available while a selected fixture is live. Locks the latest server-confirmed result. Irreversible once applied. Failed attempts do not consume quota. Free players receive 1 per Melbourne calendar month; Advantage players receive 3 total. Details: Freeze.
Leaderboard settlement and data integrity
Leaderboards settle from EDGR’s authoritative scoring. If live feeds correct a score, EDGR reconciles accordingly. Frozen results remain locked at the confirmed freeze value.
Prizes
When competitions include prizes, details are published in-app and on the prizes page for that competition.
