FAQ
Straight answers about EDGR’s free-to-play AFL margin game, virtual bankroll scoring, and strategic plays.
What is EDGR?
EDGR is Australia’s live margin sports game. Pick one AFL team each game day, watch your virtual bankroll move with every point, and climb the live leaderboard. It is free to play and is not traditional tipping.
How does the virtual bankroll work?
For AFL, every point of margin is $1,000 of virtual bankroll. Your selected team’s points raise your virtual bankroll; the opposition’s points lower it — live as the score changes. There are no deposits or withdrawals.
How do AFL picks work?
Choose one team for each day’s pick window. That team is your margin side for that fixture. Your virtual bankroll follows the live margin under EDGR’s AFL rules.
When do picks lock?
Picks lock at game start. You can change your pick any time before bounce.
What is Captain’s Call?
Captain’s Call doubles the positive or negative virtual bankroll result for exactly one selected pick. Free players receive one per Melbourne calendar month; Advantage players receive three total.
What is Freeze?
Freeze becomes available during a live selected match and locks the latest server-confirmed virtual bankroll result. Free players receive one per Melbourne calendar month; Advantage players receive three total.
What are Community Leagues?
Community Leagues are branded competitions for venues, clubs, retailers and community partners. Everyone still plays the same universal EDGR game and virtual bankroll journey.
What sports are available?
AFL is live now. More sports are coming — check EDGR for updates.
Do I need an account?
You need an account to save picks, join Community Leagues, and appear on leaderboards. Some pages may be viewable without signing in.
Is EDGR free?
Yes. EDGR is free to play — including one Captain’s Call, one Freeze, and one outbound Duel per round. Advantage is optional for Edge, three of each play, and three Duels per round.
How are prizes handled?
Prizes may be offered during selected competitions. Details are shown in EDGR and on the prizes page when available.
What if live scores are delayed?
Live data depends on the feed EDGR receives. If your TV or another app is slightly ahead or behind, numbers may not match for a moment. The app updates when the feed updates.
